  1. According to what I’ve been able to track down, Herbert Kastle (1924 – 1987) was a pulp editor and then a paperback writer from the 1950s to the 1980s; I think I remember some of the titles from a job in a used paperback store, but I don’t think I ever read them. Mostly mainstream.

    Also according to…this cover was a reprint, the original having slightly different copy. For what it’s worth, it’s claimed the art is by Frank Frazetta.

  2. I actually have a copy of this, same cover, bought new from a bookstore around 1970. I still remember most of the SF points made in the story and the sexual encounters were mildly risque but entertaining for the time. Very similar writing style to the Richard S. Prather “Shell Scott” series but less noir and more Sci Fi.
