  1. *facepalm* If you’d opened with “before something horrible happens to you” rather than fear of scandal, you might’ve had a shot, Freddie.

    • By the then-prevailing mores, a scandal such as the one now unfolding would surely count as “something horrible” in its own right.

      • Victorians and their Facade of “civilization” and “Nobility” that they’re more concerned about preserving than anything else which is what their sexual repression is all about.

  2. I’m sorry. Every time I read Celestina’s and Sir Reginald’s last name, I think of the old commercial: “Almond Joy’s got nuts. Mounds don’t.”
