IIRC that particular story had him exile Supergirl and treat her like she was a criminal, just so she was out of the way while he arranged for some kind of celebratory occasion for her. Which he did every few months or so.
When I tweeted this I described it as “Tube Supergirl! or, Superman being a superdick (again).”
