You know the premise. If a bunch of chimpanzees got together and designed a super-chimp, would this super-chimp bear any resemblance to a human being?
I think this may have originally appeared in MECHANIX ILLUSTRATED sometimes in the 1950’s. Besides how-to articles, the magazine had a surprising number of pieces speculating about the future or way-out-there speculation about future inventions and science. My grade school’s science teacher kept a bookshelf in the back of the classroom filled with back issues of MI and other kinda-sorta science and tech oriented magazines. I spent many hours going thru them rather than wasting time on the playground, and am pretty sure I remember seeing this illustration in one of the issues.
