My original tumblr post was here. This image was posted by don56 who identifies it as a cover of Dynamic Science Fiction (January 1954). The cover promotes a story by Sam Merwin, Jr., “The Final Figure.” Update: A commenter has found the story, and reports that the cover illustration is unconnected with it. It comes to us via twofistedpulp.

Perhaps you could incorporate the picture and a plot to go with it in a future story.
