A series from Éditions janvier, Poppée may have been very loosely based on the historical figure of Poppaea Sabina, a beautiful and intriguing woman who became the second wife of the Emperor Nero.

The representation of Poppea here as some sort of golden statue suggests to my warped imagination something A.S.F.R.-like going on, although I doubt that the actual comic was that imaginative.
