Dr. Faustus,

I have started to appreciate your skill in dead languages. I am pretty sure that the cuneiform text says something. Would you care to reveal what?

  Sadly in this instance it’s just what the artist came up with (though he did a good job!). The cuneiform does have a “translation,” which you’ll see in a few pages, but I couldn’t say that at least in this instance it corresponds to the design on the page.

    Thought so. I tried to decipher it, assuming it was English written in old Persian cuneiform, because it looks like Old Persian (and that is the simplest), but the result was gibberish, and my skill in old Persian, let alone Sumerian or Akkad is not good enough to make sure that it is actually gibberish.

      Now there’s a skill that could be handy. Translate the translation to old Persian cuneiform so the artist can change it on the cover. 🙂
