Continuing with art for “We Must Boost the Signal” we have a contribution from the much-admired Frans Mensink which fairly sizzles, even if there’s no nudity (at least, as that term is normally understood). Young brain scientist Dr. Hope Montclair is allowed to visit a mysterious government laboratory, where a terrifying secret is revealed. (The G-man in the picture is named Macneil, as is thus a metafictional link to the Tales of Gnosis College.) For those of you following the script, it’s roughly Page 22,Panel One. For those of you who just like the pictures, you can download a very large (~23MB) high-definition version of the picture by clicking through the one that appears on this blog.

…which makes use of the truly classic trope that pretty girls can breathe in space. Original post here.

We’ll be starting up with another chapter of Commencement on April 1, but in these last days of March I’d like to publish some concept art for a new, non-Gnosis College script I’ve been working on. It’s something a little different, something perhaps in the confluence of genres between erotic horror and apocalyptic science fiction the working title of which is We Must Boost the Signal. Oft-before-published-here artist Lucy Fidelis has done the first illustration I am publishing, in which a young lady named Amy goes out for a swim one summer morning and gets pulled down to a strange and awful fate. For those of you who might be reading the script, it illustrates events at approximately Page 4, Panel Four.

The only one I’m immediately aware of in outright golden age porn. Original post here

A rarity in pulp sci-fi covers, with an implied female rescuer/male rescuee pair.
Also, implausible space costume.
Helga Kupler gets her turn.

This appears to be a promotional poster for the weird Hong Kong sci-fi sexploitation flick Robotrix (1991), which certainly warped my mind in important ways way back when. The identifiable actresses here are Siu-dan Hui (center) and Amy Yip (right), the latter known for a time in the 1990s as “the most JPEG’ed starlet in the east.”
