Original post here. This image was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlogBacchus at Erosblog as part of the “Γ commission.” It was originally published at Hedonix as “Γ 003 – Cyborg Skater Girl.” Here is Bacchus’s research:

This image opened a short thread on Drawr.net in 2010, where can also be found what looks like notes and preliminary drawings by the artist along with at least one related artwork by a different artist featuring the same cyborg skater girl. The creator of this image was Drawr.net user 干し首 (machine translation: shrunken head), whose drawr.net URL is http://drawr.net/metalunamutant

According to this, drawr.net is:

a Flash-based website where anyone with a pixiv account can sign in and draw inside their browser, through a web application.

Since drawr does not have an interface for text, people usually reply to each other using drawings or drawn text. This means that people can create threads, where anyone can participate with drawn replies.

This illustration was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the Γ research commission. The original results were published at Hedonix as Γ 002 – Robotic Tan Lines Inspector. Here is what Bacchus found:

This image is one of those widespread internet images that is extremely difficult to source. The oldest web pages currently displaying the image are dated (like this one) to 2009, but the sourcing there indicates it was on at least one no-longer-extant Tumblr blog earlier than that. Subsequently it has been all over, from French biker forums to LiveJournal. All copies on the internet appear to be versions or crops from the same 324×551 pixel image. About the only hint at provenance I can determine comes from the image itself, which on close inspection reveals that the robot has non-Roman lettering on its chest:

At least one cameraman can be seen in the background, suggesting that this may be an image from an arranged publicity event.

A commenter at Hedonix had something interesting to add:

Your mistake was thinking that was non-Euro script. In fact, the image is flipped. I unflipped it and found it said “AROK”, then I searched Google Images for it. I found it here: http://cyberneticzoo.com/robots/1975-arok-ben-skora-american/ The link says that it is Miss Nude World 1975, which a Google search said was Stormy Shea (Cynthia Johns)…but a confirmed image was not to be found under either name.

Quite a lot of information on one small image!
