My original tumblr post was here. This image was created and posted on Tumblr by ThDark’s Blog of Art and Things with the comment “Another drawing in my “Characters vaguely from the early 20th century with some sort of weapon” series. (The revolver here is the Webley-Fosbery Automatic Revolver, which is a really interesting design!)” It comes to us via turner-d-century.

  1. The Webley-Fosbery, along with the Mauser Zik-Zak, was, in my opinion, the most useless gun ever designed, it had all the disadvantages of the revolver and the automatic pistol while lacking the advantages. Worse yet it was introduced after several auto pistols were on the market.

    • I suppose that if I lived in some early dieselpunk age and my job description involved occasionally having to shoot things I might prefer some variant on the M1911, or if that wasn’t available, a bog-standard Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver.

  2. How about the Mateba Model 6 Unica? Those and Chiappa Rhino revolvers were used in the Divergent movie series.

Surprising they didn’t also use some Calico M50 (9mm) or M100 (.22LR) pistols and carbines.
