TBH, that would also lead to ME finding out.
Oh, but a bit of canon I didn’t manage to work into the story is that John and Li Anwei dated briefly in the years after her…transition, but it was kind of a fiasco. He always wanted to practice English, she wanted to to work on her South Benthic accent. Basically, their obsessions that made them interested in each other turned out to make them totally incompatible. 😞
