    • The technology originated in Sweden with the TetraPak, a multilayer short tube with the ends heat sealed at 90 degrees to each other, pinching the tube into a tetrahedral shape.

      The company developed the box shape in 1963, but it didn’t show up in the USA until 1980.

      So if Elena is American she wouldn’t be asking for a juice box, unless she’d traveled to somewhere in Europe between 1963 and 1971 where they had juice in boxes, and drank juice from one or more.

    • This may not be young Elena’s first visit to her adult counterpart’s home time. She may not be that conscious of her previous visit(s), but she’s remembered enjoying a juice box.
