  1. Antietam was one of the bloodiest battles ever. It lasted 24 hours and on both sides there were over 25,000 casualties.

    An average of over 1,000 dead or wounded every hour of that day.

  2. We tend to forget how much US culture and history was changed by the Civil War. Just like everything we do and feel today is in some ways the consequences of WW2, Americans were a different species after bloodbaths like Antietam and Pickett’s
    Charge.
