The sum in the Propaganda Due membership form is not really believable. 100,000 liras is only 160 USD according to the exchange rate at the time. The sum is only about 1,450 dollars in 2020 money. That is not a very high admission fee for a lodge allegedly counting among its members the cream of the Italian society. I would say it would need to be at least triple or quadruple to keep the riff-raff out.
Secondly, P2 started operating in its notorious form only in 1960. In 1958, it was a rather common, almost dormant lodge.
