    • I might not yet have reached the proficiency of Hegesias of Cyrene at insinuating dark doctrines, but I’m obviously getting better. Or perhaps from a less-twisted perspective, worse.

  2. I worry for these “Redskirts”.
    Are they deliberately conditioned to serve no matter what?
    At least Redshirts’ deaths were unintentional and (briefly) lamented…

    • Let me say just how pleased I am that so many of my readers recognize this somewhat-antiquated term. I myself didn’t learn it until I was at least twenty-five, when some commenter on the Usenet newsgroup rec.arts.music.classical (yep, way back then) used it to describe the character of Zerlina in Don Giovanni

  3. Is she supposed to look like a K-Girl, cute anime chick, or counselor cleavage from TNG?

    • It is a rendition of the “yeoman” type of character from TOS (Season 1, mostly) by an artist with an extensive manga background.
