Tumblr favorite #1881: Exotic pixel dancer

tumblr_mrebgqgAiT1rnbw6mo1_400

My original tumblr post was here. This animation was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the “Δ commission.” The research was originally published at Hedonix as Here is what Bacchus found.

The source Tumblr post in this animation’s Tumblr chain of attribution is at a Tumblr blog called “SOME WANEELLA’S PIXEL ART” which gives every appearance of being the artist’s blog for posting original artwork. Many animations in similar style (including some with “Waneela” in the design and some with very similar computer panel animations) may be found there.

Although little information about artist Waneella is available, one blogger has opined:

Visually, Waneella’s animated pixel art is an intentional retro callback to video games made in the 80s and early 90s. Conceptually, the images honor a time past; these images are a love letter to past days, when imagination was encouraged, respected, and rewarded.

Tumblr favorite #1879: Can’t resist pretty girls like us

My original tumblr post was here. These animations were researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the “Δ commission.” The research was originally published at Hedonix as “Δ 048 The Rubber Mask Reveal.” Here is what Bacchus found.

The source Tumblr post in this image’s chain of Tumblr attribution offers these two tags: “#ULTRAMAN #TOKUSATSU”. According to Wikipedia Ultraman (variously ウルトラマン or Urutoraman) was a Japanese sci-fi television show in the tokusatsu style that aired in 40 episodes in 1966 and 1967.

From the Wikipedia summary there appears to have been only one regular female character on the show, played by actress Hiroko Sakurai (樱井浩子). An image of her found here looks sufficiently similar to the girl in the animations for me to tentatively conclude that she is indeed the actress seen wearing the rubber alien mask:

Tumblr favorite #1873: Cyborg perfection

My original tumblr post was here. This image was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the “Δ commission.” The research was originally published at Hedonix as “Δ 042 – Laser-Etched Cyborg Perfection. Here is what Bacchus found.

This sexy animation is the creation of Korean artist Kilart (KilartDev on DeviantArt and Kilart on ArtStation). It appears on the Kilart’s HP tumblr, along with two higher-resolution images ( 1 2 ) of the same character, titled Cyborg Girl in both images:

A page here gives Kilart’s full name as Choe Heon Hwa, but little additional information seems to be available on the English-language web.

Tumblr favorite #1869: Brinke Stevens, robot captive

tumblr_n9swja7tKN1tdhimpo1_400

My original tumblr post was here. This image was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the “Δ commission.” The research was originally published at Hedonix as “Δ 038 – Chained And Stripped By Robots.” Here is what Bacchus found.

The identification of this animation was made enormously easier by someone who reblogged it after its appearance at the Erotic Mad Science tumblr and appended this attribution when they did so: “Brinke Stevens – SLAVE GIRLS FROM BEYOND INFINITY.” The reference is to 1987’s Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity movie, which did indeed feature Brinke Stevens as a character named Shayla. The inevitably-too-detailed plot summary of the movie at Wikipedia describes a scene in which “Shala is seized and stripped by Zed and the robots”, which would seem to fit the action visible in the animation. A higher-resolution screenshot matching one of the animation frames, found at this Russian torrent site, confirms the attribution:

Tumblr favorite #1860: Bait and distraction

tumblr_ngzk6eApTn1tsqhnao1_1280

My original tumblr post (with a note “she’s cute when she’s mad!”) was here. This image was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the “Δ commission.” The research was originally published at Hedonix as “Δ 028 – Bait And Distraction.” Here is what Bacchus found.

The blog post here displays a still capture of this scene and suggests that the animation is from the September 30, 2010 episode (Accounting For Lawyers) of the NBC television show Community. The actress is Alison Brie.

A similar animation (found here) of what appears to be very nearly the same scene is captioned “I am the smartest one in this whole group and all I’ve been used for is bait and distraction.”

Tumblr favorite #1837: Sparkling Tokusatsu

tumblr_n6so2xFxRG1qzxzcso1_500

Original post here. This image was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the “Δ commission.” The research was originally published at Hedonix as “Δ 005 – Sparkling Tokusatsu.” Here is what Bacchus found.

In this animation’s earliest appearance in its current Tumblr chain of attribution, it is tagged “tokusatsu”, which is more of a description than an attribution. Tokusatsu, it turns out, is the name of a style or genre of Japanese movies (usually science fiction, monster, or horror movies) that rely heavily on special effects. (The word tokusatsu or 特撮 literally means “special filming”.)

The animation, which might be (but probably isn’t) an homage to a “beam me up” moment in classic Star Trek, has the letters “MOK” faintly visible in the lower right corner of all frames. Unfortunately these three letters so commonly serve both as an acronym (for various things) and as a common name that they do not much facilitate Google searching. Neither the artist nor the original source video for this animation could be determined.

Tumblr favorite #1807: Pixilated woman

g037-tumblr_n438bvlQFV1qzpy7ko1_500

Original post here. This image was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the “Γ commission.” The research was originally published at Hedonix as “Γ 037 – Pixelated Breasts.” Here is what Bacchus found.

This animated .gif on Tumblr sources back to this Tumblr post on what turns out to be the artist’s Tumblr blog. The tag there is “Toxic Super Freakout” and although that’s not hugely illuminating, the artist Max Capacity has a web store in which it appears he’s sold a series of eight deliberately-obsolete VHS videotapes under that title, featuring his imagery and the music of The TV People. It is unclear which of the eight tapes may have featured the frames in this .gif. There’s an article at The Creators Project that attempts — with only partial success in my view — to explain what Max Capacity is up to:

Many of his GIFs and videos, whether commissioned or simply personal, feature samples from VHS tapes and typical 80s iconography. MAX CAPACITY grinds them into a patchwork of colorful and lo-fi pixels, reminiscent of early 1990s net art and Zahid Jiwa videos. Much like his brethren who populate this semi-anonymous artistic scene, MAX CAPACITY is a devoted internet user. His visuals can be found on Flickr, and he has over 270 videos (and counting) on Youtube and Vimeo pages. Mostly, these videos consist of 15 second loops in bright, neon and acidic hues, grainy and pixelated but gorgeous as hell. He also maintains a loosely organized clutter on Tumblr. Beyond this chaotic work-in-progress, MAX CAPACITY has recently dabbled in some musical projects…

Thus it seems likely that the nude in this image is not Max’s original work, but is a sample from an unknown video that Max has pixelized, colored, illuminated, and whatnot. A considerable sampling of his Toxic Super Freakout videos can be found on YouTube, but they seem not to be labeled in a way which would hint at which samples are from which videos.

Tumblr favorite #1799: Can you solve the mystery of the sexy hex dump?

g029-tumblr_n0pklqhh931reeolao1_500

Original post here. This image was researched by Bacchus at ErosBlog as part of the “Γ commission.” The research was originally published at Hedonix as “Γ 029 – Sexy Hex Dump.” I’m sure Bacchus did his best.

This simple animated .gif shows just a few frames from a movie or video in which we can see an oldfashioned hexadecimal dump scrolling by on the left side of a monochrome monitor as a simple graphic of a naked woman builds from top to bottom on the right side of the screen. The monitor is in a dark room on a metal rack while a large fan spins nearby.

All appearances of the .gif on the internet that I was able to locate were on Tumblr, and they all source to this post on the 2Cool 4Internet Tumblr. Sadly there are no tags or other attributions offered, and I was unable to search out the source by any other means. I imagine it to be a few frames from a movie — it has that “gee whiz looks good on the screen but why would anybody actually build an interface that actually did that” appearance so common when Hollywood shows computing on-screen — but that’s really just a wild guess.
