1. Funnily enough, authority figures and villains often feel it prudent to cover up things like disappearances… disintegrations… involuntary mutations…

2. Maybe if they shut the library for half the week, sack half the staff, introduce regular coffee mornings and playgroup activities, they’ll finally be able to upgrade from that purple ink photocopier.

   But microfiche indexing? That’s sounds like the sort of fever dream her predecessor might’ve had when he was younger.
