Audrey Tautou as liquid girl

Here’s a cinematic sighting of the liquid girl trope in an unusual place, with Audrey Tautou doing the fluidic turn in the beyond-charming Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain (2001). And it’s sure worth burning up the bandwidth with an animated gif.

Audrey Tatou turns to liquid in Amelie

Amélie, played by Tautou, is reacting to romantic disappointment if I remember correctly, so not exactly mad science. So does it belong here? Are you kidding? I would watch an infomercial for toilet brushes if it had Audrey Tautou in it and let’s face it, so would you.

Cinema Steve added to blogroll

Some of you might have encountered writer and film buff Steve Miller’s 150 Movies to Die before You See, which sure sounds like the sort of thing someone who reads this site should have on his shelf. Well, I am pleased to report that this distinguished reviewer has not just a site, but a whole darn network of sites of reviews and commentary and very tasty imagery well worth your time if you like what goes on here. There’s Terror Titans (horror movies), Watching the Detectives (hard-boiled private eye and spy stuff), Movies to Die Before You See (pretty much self-explanatory), The Universal Horror Archive (lot of horror, including some classic mad science), and Shades of Gray (black and white fantasy art, which should be appealing to those of you who enjoy Lon’s fine black and white work on Tales of Gnosis College). From the last, I can’t resist a swipe of some splendid mad science found there, an illustration by Bruce Timm.

And all this wonderfulness is packaged up for you at Cinema Steve, which now occupies a place of honor over on the blogroll. Do something nice for yourself and surf over to take a look.

Master Download Page now available

Over the last several months I’ve been putting up posts pointing people to where they can get downloadable versions of the Tales of Gnosis College as they appear. As the number and location of these downloads has increased (there are now both torrents and direct downloads, and there are now five available chapters), just having posts seemed no longer adequate. So I have now set up a master downloads page: Gnosis College Downloads, which points to all currently available torrents and downloads.

This page, in addition to providing the downloads, contains the link for signing up for e-mail updates for when new chapters become available.

Tales of Gnosis College e-mail subscription option

Drop us a line at Gnosis College!A number of readers of the Tales of Gnosis College have expressed an interest in being able to read the comic in a monthly rather than a daily format. Since I’ve been doing monthly “virtual issue” compilations this is already available for readers: torrents of individual chapters are available in PDF, CBZ and MOBI formats available as torrents, and recently I’ve also made PDF chapters available for direct download via SendSpace. As best I can tell, both methods are working well.

I’m always interested in making the reader experience smoother, however, and so I’m now offering an additional option for people who might not be able to visit this blogpage frequently, which is e-mail reminders of the availability of monthly pages. No need to remember anything or visit anywhere — just let Dr. Faustus do the work of remembering all that. Just send me a mail at subscribe@eroticmadscience.com and I’ll add your e-mail to a bcc list that I expect will go out once a month or so.

I promise not to spam or sell the list — mad scientist’s honor. And of course, I’ll always remove anyone who writes and asks.

Sunday afternoon image bleg

Does anyone know the source — as in, what anime series it might have been part of — for this image?

It looks to me like a closer-in take of an image that I ran in a post back in November, though I might be mistaken.

Whatever it was, I think I really want to see it, so any guidance would be much appreciated.

Mad Science Steampunk Tavern

I knew I’d be gratified at having Niceman and Asian Dyna back for another round of live-action poses in a 3D world…

Many gorgeous Dynas play various roles in a mad science steampunk tavern!

This rather complicated image has a backstory. It began with my desire to have a bar scene, beginning with a place that I frequent in the real world.

I’ve blogged about it at ErosBlog, but kudos to you if you can identify it without peeking!

Mischievous fellow that I am, I set a constraint for Niceman: he would have to incorporate a design suggestion of Dyna’s.

Dyna’s suggestion: how about multiple me-s?

Well that was way too much fun to pass up, because if there’s one thing that we mad scientists love, it’s the idea of duplicating beautiful women.

And so Nice went to work, and made a mad science bar. How many Dynas can you spot? We’ve got a tube girl, a reference to Invasion of the Bee Girls, a shrinking woman reference and…in the background…one more.
