A woman is being made.

In Strangeways's reconstitution tube, the copying of Jill Keeney is almost complete.

The x-ray image — shown as a reverse process on this page — can also have appeal, even if the subject is only partly human.

The mad-science doo-dad in Panel Three here (whose purpose will soon become evident, if you haven’t already guessed it) seems to take its design inspiration from that good old science-fiction prop. the cryopod.

Although it didn’t strike me in his previous appearances in Chapter Two, here the figure of “the Director” (as he is identified in the script sort of reminds me of someone.

Lon’s single-panel page here reminds me of a title sequence that made a deep impression on me as a kid.

Maureen has witnessed something ugly, and responds appropriately.

The scary basement setting for the quantum chamber Lon created here does have a spooky abandoned hospital feel.

Whenever I see one of these I wonder at what horrors went on there before the site was abandoned. Image source here.

Indeed, time does seem to be running out for poor Colleen.

Colleen’s plaintive tune suggests she knows her fate. A hint (for those of you who don’t recognize it right away) as to its origins.
